DINING EXPERIENCE AT THE LAST WORD INTIMATE HOTELS

At all The Last Word intimate hotels lavish breakfasts and all beverages are included in the rates. Each breakfast is custom made to your liking and includes many home-made specialities.

Dining in-house is a charming and exceptional experience. Although dinners and lunches are not served daily as in a hotel restaurant, these can easily be discussed and arranged with our gracious hosts taking advantage of our fabulous locations and breathtaking views. Dining in-house can be enjoyed in the privacy of your room or private patio or in the dining areas. In the evening, drinks and snacks are served in the lounges, patios or deck areas for our guests to enjoy at their leisure.

Meals can include traditional home-style South African cuisine or international styled fare. Everything is carefully prepared by The Last Word staff, using the freshest of ingredients - some of which are grown in the gardens or caught straight from the sea. Our staff are passionate about their cooking and although not officially trained in gourmet kitchens, take great pride in offering tasty home cooked meals with character. Our philosophy is to encourage them to adopt their own style which is evident in our breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

A highlight of staying at The Last Word is the traditional South African braai (barbeque) that is prepared for our guests who wish to experience this favourite local pastime. It provides the ideal occasion to mingle and get to know other guests. Our food is about sharing and laughter, something that should not be missed. An elaborate array from prawns and crayfish with lemon butter (in season) to mouth watering steak, juicy lamb chops, chicken kebabs and South African boerewors are on offer with many different types of salads and other fare to compliment the meal.

Although when staying with us we do encourage our guests to experience our home style cooking, we are also surrounded by many world class and award winning restaurants that should not be missed as they are simply brilliant.
